🗒️ Instructions - Host
Before hiking
- Be on time: Arrive at the meeting point 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
- Check your WhatsApp: Watch the Men's Journey WhatsApp group for any last-minute updates or cancellations.
- Flexibility: If someone is late, you can choose to wait a while. However, this is not mandatory.
Opening - 5 minutes
- Welcome: Warmly welcome participants and create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
- Introduction:
- Briefly introduce new members to the group (one name is sufficient).
- Divide the group into smaller groups of min 2 / max 3 people
- Emphasize that the groups themselves should keep track of time:
- 2-person group = 20 minutes p.p.
- 3-person group = 15 minutes p.p.
- Go over the concept (and ask men to stick to it).
- Goal: Through sharing, discover your own patterns and beliefs.
- Listen without judgment, without unsolicited advice or questions.
- Try to stay out of your head, share what you feel.
- Start with: "What keeps you busy?"
- End with: "What do you need?" (bullshit call, hug, advice).
- New members always speak last (experienced first).
- Answer any questions:
- Give space for questions and answer them as far as you can.
During the walk - 45 minutes
- 📷 Take some mood photos (from the back) group while walking for our Instagram page.
🤩 Enjoy! Join the walk yourself and share your story too.
Closure - 5 minutes
Thank participants for their presence and openness. If some wish to walk on, they may decide for themselves.
Standards of our Tribe
Authenticity
Be authentic and true to yourself. This is essential for self-discovery and showing vulnerability. Recognize your own bullshit.
Change
Show courage by being present even when the going gets tough. Keep your commitments and stay true to your values and identity.
Clarity
Encourage clarity in communication. If someone is unclear, ask questions. This ensures transparency and understanding within the group.
Unsolicited advice
We believe in the inner strength of every man to find his own solutions. Don’t offer unsolicited advice; always ask for permission before giving advice or asking a question.
Shared leadership
In our group, no one is the specific leader; we are all leaders. We embrace equality, and everyone’s voice is treated with respect.
No gossip
Speak directly to someone if you have an issue, rather than talking about them within or outside the group. This promotes direct communication and prevents gossip.
Don't judge
Only share your opinion when it is asked for. In all other cases, we listen without judgment, creating a space where everyone can feel vulnerable and authentic.
Safety
What is shared within the group stays within the group. We respect and safeguard each other's stories, secrets, and experiences.
Less ratio
We recognize that our heart provides essential insights. We aim to act less from our intellect and more from our heart.
